In this video I break down the steps for giving oneself an injection of Orencia. I also provide a life hack for injecting medications when you have thumb pain. Many patients with autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis take medication that requires them to self-inject it, or give themselves an injection.
Here are the steps in order:
- 1) Let the medication come to room temperature
- 2) Gather your materials
- 3) Wash hands and prep materials
- 4) Clean the injection site
- 5) Actually inject it (this is where the life hack occurs – minute 2:25)
- 6) Clean up
- 7) Out-take
