It was a year of adventure, from Seattle to Tokyo, Washington DC to Denver, LA to the Oregon coast ✈️

Before I share my Highlights…

Before I share highlights from 2024, I want to remind you of some sage advice that I often remind myself when looking at a social media: don’t compare your outtakes to someone else’s highlight reel.

As an extrovert living with chronic illness, I often feel excited to capture my happy moments, and don’t feel inspired to capture the difficult moments.

So take this year in review as a snapshot of the highs, while remembering that they were accompanied by invisible lows which are also important to recognize.

Now on to the highlights list:

2024 highlights from Arthritis Life and my Life with Rheumatoid Arthritis!

✅ I facilitated 5 new groups of Rheum to THRIVErs and 50 meetings for the alumni group – witnessing the transformation from lost and alone to supported and empowered is an utter joy and the heart of my work at Arthritis Life!

✅ The Arthritis Life Podcast almost reached 200,000 lifetime downloads this year, with people tuning in from over 100 countries – I’m humbled and honored that there is such an audience for people to learn real patient stories, tips from others who get it, and provider wisdom. Thank you so much to everyone who listened this year!

✅ I LOVED meeting so many new and old arthritis friends in PERSON at five amazing events: the American College of Rheumatology Conference, Rheumatology Research Foundation investigators meeting, HealtheVoices, Jingle Bell Run and Chronicon SF!

✅ Our family took a magical trip to Japan, from
Tokyo to a road trip on the north island of Hokkaido – it was a phenomenal cultural and gastronomical adventure!

✅ Last but not least, I started Swing dancing again, which used to be my most favorite hobby, it’s also how I’m at my husband! I took a little performance class in October and it’s been wonderful to reconnect with a lot of my Dance friends in the Seattle and SF areas.

Looking forward to 2025

I am so grateful for all the memories and am looking forward to 2025! My goals for 2024 were to be more present and delegate more, and I would give myself a 6/10 on those goals. I am continuing to work on those for 2025 – let me know your hopes for the new year!
