In light of the recent Covid19 (coronavirus) outbreak in my hometown of Kirkland, Washington, I made a video to show the 6 things I keep in my car to avoid infections & stay healthy during cold, flu and coronavirus season. I keep these same things in my home as well!

The 6 things are:

  • Hand Sanitizer (pump bottle for ease of use)
  • Moisturizer (to avoid small cracks in dry hands, through which infection can enter)
  • Band aids (to cover cracks/cuts in hands)
  • Tissues / kleenex (to use to rub nose or hold handles in public)
  • Gloves (to use when touching items in public such as gas pump handles)
  • Clorox/lysol wipes (to wipe down surfaces in the car)

Also as promised, the link to my “6 things I wish I had known when I was diagnosed with arthritis” freebie: bit.ly/6ThingsArthritis – don’t forget, it’s case sensitive!

Avoiding infections is particularly important for those of us on immunosuppressant medication due to rheumatoid arthritis or similar diseases. If we contract infections, they are more likely to become serious.

Here are some additional good sources of information for infection control during this time:
