Movement helps loosen up the synovial fluid within the joint, which is super helpful for rheumatoid arthritis since with RA, the immune system mistakenly attacks the synovial lining of joints which *then* causes swelling and inflammation.

Additionally, people with RA and other inflammatory, systemic rheumatic diseases are more prone to cardiovascular disease than the general population.

Unfortunately, heart disease is the #1 killer of adults in the US, so it’s in our best interests to get the blood pumping for our heart as *well* as our joints.

For me personally, MUSIC is the quickest way to get me out of my computer chair and into my favorite 80s dance moves, AND it’s more fun when it’s done together than alone, which is why….

🌟 You don’t have to *have* arthritis to participate, but I’m specifically encouraging those with any condition that may cause arthritis as a symptom to participate (this includes ankylosings pondylitis, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, gout, Sjogren’s disease, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Axial spondyloarthritis, reactive arthritis, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue diseases, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and of course osteoarthritis!
