No one should have to face rheumatic disease on their own – that’s why I created Rheum to THRIVE, an arthritis support group program where you can connect with a community and also learn tools to thrive *with* your condition!

Live Virtual information Session for Arthritis Support Group program

I’m hosing an information session / open house about my Rheum to THRIVE education & support program on Wednesday, September 7th – register today!

🌟In Rheum to THRIVE, I teach you the most important tools to manage your physical, emotional and social life with rheumatic disease. I’ve gained these tools through my masters in Occupational therapy along with 19 years of patient experience living with rheumatoid arthritis.

What are current group members saying?

“The journey of being diagnosed with a chronic illness is isolating, I felt lost trying to make sense of things on my own. This was my first experience of hearing real people talk about the real issues related to RA- and more importantly, how to cope. I feel so much less lonely, and a lot more hopeful. The virtual [format] is convenient and I can still attend if I’m not feeling well.” – A.W., June 2022

“Before the program I would question myself and how I was feeling. Knowing that others feel similar has helped me to gain confidence in knowing my symptoms are not necessarily unique, imagined, or invalid. I am more confident that despite not having all the answers, I can be more patient with myself in approaching a solution.” – C. S, June 2022

Program Agenda

Each month, I teach mini-lessons on evidence based tools to manage all the ways rheumatic disease affects your life, from work and social life to pain and fatigue. I then facilitate a peer support group session for the last half of each meeting.

✅ October: Tools for Pain & Fatigue

✅ November: Helpful / Healthy Habits (nutrition, exercise, sleep)

✅ December: Relationships & social life – managing romantic partnerships, friendships, work and family life

✅ January 2023: Inner world: focus on stress management, coping and mindset

✅ February: Values and Valued Activities: how to keep doing what we love even with rheumatic disease

✅ March: Executive Functions – how to become the CEO of your care team (tracking symptoms, making the most of medical appointments & more)
