Let’s be real: flare ups can be difficult to predict, prevent and cope with!

In this live webinar, occupational therapist and rheumatoid arthritis patient Cheryl Crow shared the exact process she follows to manage, cope with and prevent rheumatoid arthritis flare-ups. The majority of this information is applicable to other similar rheumatic diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis.

What’s included in this training:

  • Defining terms: What is a flare? What triggers a flare?
  • Focus on Pain: Tools to prevent pain (including exercise, nutrition, joint protection, sleep and stress management), tools to minimize existing pain (from hot and cold packs and beyond!)
  • Focus on Fatigue: Tools to prevent and minimize existing fatigue (including energy conservation, task simplification, more lifestyle factors such as exercise and sleep, and more)
  • Focus on Stress management: How mindfulness and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) can help you cope with the unpredictability of flares
  • ✅ Focus on Symptom Tracking: How this can help you determine your unique flare triggers
